| So the big action week is fast approaching, you’re excited to get involved, and you’re freaking out because you don’t know what to do. You didn't have time to go through the 9-Step Organizing Plan. Have no fear! You still have time to pull off a great action. Here are a few quick and easy ideas: Go to a Place
Nothing says “We want to lift the siege of Gaza” like a photo of you with sign at an iconic place in the background. Or ask a friend or family member to take a walk with you to an appropriate place. Don’t forget a banner and a camera! Eat
Speaking of food, eating is one of the easiest ways to bring people together. Host a dinner. Ask your friends to bring something along, so you don’t need to cook all week. Set aside a few minutes before or after the meal to explain the latest on Gaza and the Gaza Freedom March, and then link it all together with a great group photo at the dinner table. Gather Things
Don’t worry about gathering people for an action – that’s amazing, but it takes a while to do. How about gathering something else instead of people? Lay out objects to spell out your message of breaking the siege of Gaza or Free Gaza. You don't need a lot of people for this action. Create Art
Lots of social movement demands focus on stopping things – No Coal, No Nukes, Stop the War, No, No, Stop, Stop... With the International Week of Action, you can help create something, perhaps a vision for a better future in Gaza. You can actually create tangible art or installations between the 27th through 31st. It’s easy and it doesn’t take a lot of people. Of course, feel free to experiment and come up with your own ideas if you’d like. The important things: |
